Primary voters who care about women’s issues and veterans issues, in particular women and voters over 50, need to read in mail:
Maggie was born and raised in Nashua, where she learned the New Hampshire values that she has dedicated her life to: defending our democracy, protecting our freedoms, and fighting for fairness. She’s been on the front lines in the fight against Trump and his extreme MAGA movement, as they tear away at our democracy, rip away our basic freedoms, and deny hardworking Granite Staters a fair deal. Maggie has the experience it will take to effectively fight for what we value most here in New Hampshire.
Maggie’s experience in this race is unmatched. That experience includes: serving as an intelligence officer in the United States Navy Reserve; as a lawyer in first impeachment of former President Donald Trump; as a professor of constitutional law at UNH School of Law and Dartmouth; as a Deputy Assistant Attorney General at the Justice Department and in the White House.
Over the course of the campaign, voters should hear more about the following specific elements of her record:
- First, for Maggie Goodlander, protecting a woman’s right to make her own health care decisions is deeply personal. Goodlander was working at the Department of Justice the day that Roe v. Wade was struck down and she was 20 weeks pregnant when she lost her pregnancy. She understands that women’s health care decisions should be left up to a woman and her doctor, not politicians. In Congress, she will stand up to the extremists who want to pass a national abortion ban and will protect the rights of New Hampshire women.
- Backup: “Goodlander said she helped Garland create the Reproductive Rights Task Force that monitored the response of states that imposed restrictions on abortion.”
- Second, Maggie Goodlander served for more than a decade as an intelligence officer in the U.S. Navy Reserve. She is a professor of constitutional law at UNH who believes deep in her bones that no politician is above the law. That’s why she served as a lawyer in former President Trump’s first impeachment trial. In Congress, Goodlander will uphold the rule of law and stand up to Trump and MAGA extremists who are threatening our democracy and want to take away our rights and freedoms.
- As time allows, Maggie Goodlander knows that big corporations are rigging the system to boost their profits at the expense of everyday people. At the Justice Department, Goodlander took on the corporate monopolies that are harming Granite Staters and keeping costs high, including the big corporations that are jacking up housing costs; the big health insurers that are charging Granite Staters more while covering less; Big Ag companies that are screwing family farmers and Big Tech companies that are stifling innovation and small businesses. She’s not taking a penny from corporate PACs and will crack down on price gouging and hold corporations accountable in Congress.
Voters who care about veteran issues need to see broadcast, cable, streaming in Manchester, Boston & Burlington, and digital districtwide to primary voters, but in particular women and voters over 50:
